This document does not provide packaging requirements for valves, fittings, and flanges intended for use in gas generating, fluid, and pneumatic systems with cleanliness and preservation requirement standards exceeding those specified herein.

【摘要】:Thistestmethodisconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingwhenthelevelsofthelaboratoriesarecontrolledbytheuseofthesamereferencestandardcottonsamplesbecausethecurrentestimatesofbetween-laboratoryprecisionareacceptableundertheseconditions.Iftherearedifferencesofpracticalsignificancebetweenreportedtestresultsfortwolaboratories(ormore),comparativetestsshouldbeperformedtodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweenthem,usingcompetentstatisticalassistance.Asaminimum,ensurethetestsamplestobeusedareashomogeneousaspossible,aredrawnfromthematerialfromwhichthedisparatetestresultswereobtained,andarerandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.Thetestfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingastatisticaltestforunpaireddata,ataprobabilitylevelchosenpriortothetestingseries.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrected,orfuturetestresultsforthatmaterialmustbeadjustedinconsiderationoftheknownbias.Themicronairereadingofcottonfibersisafunctionofbothfinenessandmaturityandisrelatedtomillprocessingperformanceandtothequalityoftheendproducts.Factorscorrelatedwithmicronairereadingincludecleaningefficiency,neppiness,andthestrengthanduniformityoftheyarn.Note28212;Amodificationofthistestmethodisusedincommercialtradingtoselectbaleswhichwillconformtocontractguaranteesforspecifiedmicronairereadings(refertoD5867).Forthispurpose,itisusualpracticetotestonlyonespecimenpersample.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthemicronairereadingofloosecottonfibersbymeasuringtheresistanceofaspecificmass(plug)ofcottonfiberstoairflowunderprescribedconditions.Note18212;Forothermethodsfordeterminingthefinenessoffibersbasedontheair-flowprinciple,refertoTestMethodD1449,TestMethodforSpecificAreaandImmaturityRatioofCottonFibers(ArealometerMethod),andtoTestMethodD1282,TestMethodforResistancetoAirFlowasanIndicationofAverageFiberDiameterofWoolTop,CardSliver,andScouredWool.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
