【摘要】:Permittivity:5.1.1PolyethyleneandMaterialsofPermittivityWithin0.1ofThatofPolyethylene8212;Sincethepermittivityofbenzeneor1-cStsiliconefluidisveryclosetothatofpolyethylene,thesefluidsarerecommendedforhighlyaccurateandprecisetestingofpolyethyleneorothermaterialswithpermittivityclosetothatofpolyethylene.Theseaspectsofthetestmethodmakeitasuitabletooltodeterminebatch-to-batchuniformityofapolyethylenecompoundtomeetpreciserequirementsofhighcapacitanceuniformityandcapacitancestabilityinelectronicapparatus.Italsoservesasameanstodetectimpurities,aswellaschangesresultingfromprolongedexposuretohighhumidity,waterimmersion,weathering,aging,processingtreatments,andexposuretoradiation.5.1.2OtherMaterials8212;Thistestmethodprovidesadvantagesforroutinetestingofthosematerialsthathaveapoorermatchinpermittivitybetweentheliquidsmentionedin5.1.1andthespecimen.Theseadvantagesinclude,butarenotlimitedto,areductionoftheprobabilityoferrorscausedbyimprecisethicknessdataandtheeasewithwhichtestscanbeperformed.Correctionfactorscanbecalculatedtoaccountforthebiasintroducedbythepermittivitymismatch.Thetwoliquidsmentionedin5.1.1arenottheonlyliquidshavingknownvaluesofdielectricpropertiesandareknowntobecompatiblewithasolidelectricalinsulatingmaterial.DissipationFactor8212;Normally,polyethylenehasaverylowdissipationfactor,andatestspecimenexhibitinganabnormallyhighdissipationfactorwouldbesuspectedofcontainingimpuritiesorbeingcontaminated.Thereproducibilityofdissipationfactorbythistestmethodissomewhatbetterthanthatobtainablewiththemoreconventionalmethods,butislimitedbythesensitivityofcommerciallyavailablemeasuringapparatus.1.1Thesetestmethodsprovidetechniquesforthedeterminationoftherelative(Note1)permittivityandthedissipationfactorofsolidinsulatingmaterialsbyfluid(Note2)displacement.Note18212;Incommonusage,theword"relative"isfrequentlydropped.Note28212;Theword"fluid"isacommonlyusedsynonymfor"liquid"andyetagasisalsoafluid.Inthisstandard,theword"fluid"isusedtoshowthatliquidisnotallthatismeant.1.2TestMethodAisespeciallysuitedtotheprecisemeasurementsonpolyethylenesheetingat23176;Candatfrequenciesbetween1kHzand1MHz.Itmayalsobeusedatotherfrequenciesandtemperaturestomakemeasurementsonothermaterialsinsheetform.1.3TestMethodBislimitedtothefrequencyrangeofavailableguardedbridges.Itisespeciallysuitedtomeasurementsonverythinfilmssinceitdoesnotrequiredeterminationofthethicknessofthespecimenyetitprovidesanestimateofthethicknessofthinfilmsthatismoreaccurateandprecisethanthicknessmeasurementsobtainedbyothermeans.1.4TestMethodBisalsousefulformeasurementsofpolymersheetingupto2-mmthickness.1.5Thesetestmethodspermitcalculationofthedissipationfactorofthespecimenstested.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecificprecautionarystatement,see7.2.
