【摘要】:Thedeterminationofleadandcadmiumreleasefromporcelainenamelsurfaceswasformerlyofinterestonlytomanufacturersofporcelainenamelcookwareandsimilarfoodserviceproducts.Foodcontactsurfacesofthesecontainer-typeproductshavebeenevaluatedusingatestproceduresimilartoTestMethodC738.Recently,however,therehasbeenaneedtomeasureleadandcadmiumreleasefromflatorcurvedporcelainenamelsurfacesthatarenotcapableofbeingevaluatedbyatestsimilartoTestMethodC738.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheprecisedeterminationofleadandcadmiumextractedbyaceticacidfromporcelainenamelsurfaces.1.2ValuesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Inch-poundunitsaregivenforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
